Last autumn, I had the incredible privilege of teaming up with the talented wedding planner Yoleine Chainon for a prewedding photoshoot in the breathtaking village of Gordes, nestled in the South of France. Recently crowned the most beautiful village in the world in 2023, Gordes was the perfect setting to capture the love story of L. & Y., an absolutely adorable couple set to tie the knot this year. They wanted to celebrate their engagement with an elegant and modern session that reflected their unique style. L. looked stunning in a chic short dress by Dylan Parienty, complemented by a luxurious Jimmy Choo Bon Bon bag adorned with white pearls—a flawless blend of sophistication and timeless style. I must say, I absolutely adore the South of France, and I’m fortunate to frequently photograph preweddings and weddings in this stunning region.

As a prewedding photographer working all over France, I suggested the couple embrace the magic of early morning light by starting the shoot at dawn. That meant an early wake-up call for all of us, but it was so worth it! We positioned ourselves on a cliff overlooking the village of Gordes, ensuring unobstructed views and the softest, most flattering light for the photos. The effort paid off—the golden hues of the Provençal sunrise brought out the natural beauty of the surroundings and gave the images a dreamlike quality. There’s nothing quite like capturing the essence of Provence bathed in morning light –though the evening is also quite a thing!

This prewedding photoshoot in Gordes wasn’t just about beautiful imagery; it was also a heartfelt celebration of L. & Y.’s engagement. To mark the occasion, they popped open a bottle of champagne, toasting to their future together in this extraordinary setting. It was such a joy-filled moment, and the happiness in the air was absolutely contagious. I couldn’t help but smile as I captured their love and laughter.
