France is a dream destination, full of charm, elegance, and breathtaking landscapes. Whether you're celebrating your love story with a pre-wedding session, a romantic getaway, or simply want to bring home unforgettable memories from your trip, a lavender photoshoot in Provence might just be the magical touch you’re looking for.
Among the most iconic and unique sceneries in France—apart from the Eiffel Tower, of course!—the lavender fields of southeastern France are simply unforgettable. Picture this: rolling hills painted in soft purple, the golden light of the South, and the scent of lavender lingering in the warm air… Could there be a more romantic setting for your lavender photoshoot?

Where
Should You Go
for the Best Lavender Photoshoot?
Here comes the big surprise: it’s not Valensole!
Yes, Valensole is famous, but it’s also far (over an hour from the nearest amenities), overrun with tourist buses, and lacking in the romance and intimacy you deserve. Think crowded fields, no bathrooms, and no romantic dinner afterward… Not quite the fairytale you had in mind, right?
Instead, we’ve hand-picked a hidden gem: a private location where nature meets luxury, and comfort meets authenticity.
The Perfect Lavender Field – With a Château!
We’ve found the ideal spot for your lavender photoshoot: a charming boutique château, nestled in the heart of Provence and surrounded by stunning private lavender fields. Best of all? This isn’t just a location—it’s an experience.
Here, you can enjoy a luxurious stay, dine at a gourmet restaurant, and immerse yourself in the beauty of Provence—all without sacrificing convenience or comfort. No more grabbing a soggy sandwich in your rental car. After your lavender photoshoot, you’ll toast to love over a candlelit dinner in a château. Yes, it’s as dreamy as it sounds.
Oh—and did we mention? The château is only a short drive from a high-speed train station. So, if you’re traveling from Paris, you can be in lavender paradise in no time!
When
Should You Book
Your Lavender Photoshoot For?
Lavender doesn’t bloom year-round, which is part of what makes a lavender photoshoot so special—it’s rare and fleeting.
The very best time for a lavender photoshoot in Provence is during the last week of June and the first week of July. That’s it.
Earlier in June, the fields are still greenish and not quite in full bloom. After the first week of July? The lavender is usually harvested to make perfumes, soaps, and all those lovely products you’ll want to bring home.
So if you're wondering, “When should we book our lavender photoshoot?”—the answer is: as early as possible! There are only about 15 days each year when the fields are at their magical peak.
What
Time of Day is Best for
Your Lavender Photoshoot?
Summer days in Provence can be scorching, and I would never schedule your lavender photoshoot during the hottest hours—both for your comfort and for the photos!
The best light happens during the golden hours:
Sunrise – soft light and quiet moments, between 6 AM and 9 AM
Sunset – warm glow and romantic vibes, from 6 PM to 10 PM
These are the times when the lavender fields truly come to life in photos—and when the experience is at its most magical.
Imagine it: a warm Provençal breeze, the sweet scent of lavender in the air, and fields stretching to the horizon in every shade of purple.
Whether you’re planning a surprise proposal, celebrating your honeymoon, or simply living your best life in France, your lavender photoshoot will be unforgettable.
And trust me—no matter how stunning the photos are, nothing compares to actually being there.

INQUIRE ABOUT YOUR LAVENDER PHOTOSHOOT
F. A. Q.
Can I book a photoshoot in these lavender fields without staying at the château?
These lavender fields are a dream location for a photoshoot—picture-perfect views with a mountain backdrop, and no crowds of tourists around! But as they’re located on the private grounds of the château, access is exclusively reserved for château guests. By booking a room, you’ll enjoy all the peace and privacy you need for your shoot, and you’ll have unlimited access to the fields during your stay.
Can I stay at the château for just one night?
The château requires a minimum two-night stay. It’s actually ideal! You can rest onsite the night before your shoot, take time to explore the gorgeous surroundings, and wake up to that magical lavender view again the next morning.
I don’t have a car—how do I get to the château for the photoshoot?
No problem! The château and its lavender fields are close to a high-speed train station. Just hop on a train, and we’ll arrange a taxi to pick you up and bring you straight to the château. Our planner will handle the booking for you 48 hours before your arrival.
Can I bring my own flowers / hair & makeup artist / dress?
Absolutely! We offer all these services as optional add-ons, but you're totally free to bring your own team or arrangements if you prefer.
How far in advance should I book?
As early as possible! Lavender season is super short, and the château gets a lot of requests. If the rooms are fully booked, unfortunately we won’t be able to access the fields for a shoot—so don’t wait too long!
Are breakfasts included in the package?
Breakfast is not included in the package, but you can choose to add a generous breakfast buffet if you'd like—perfect to start your day right!
When will we receive our photos?
Late June to early July is peak wedding season, so things can get busy! But I usually deliver your pre-wedding photos within 2 to 3 weeks, beautifully edited and ready to enjoy.
Can I see the dresses available from your partner’s catalog?
Of course! Just send me a message with your preferred shoot dates and the package you're interested in, and I’ll happily share the dress catalog with you.
Can I personalize the experience even more with local visits and excursions?
Yes! Our planner would love to help you craft a custom itinerary based on your interests and how much time you’ll be spending in the area. Every request is handled individually, and we’ll send you a personalized quote.
