Last summer, aside from photographing a wedding at Chateau La Durantie, I had the incredible honor of photographing Adeline and Mitch’s wedding at the stunning Chateau de Bouthonvilliers. This lovely couple, who traveled all the way from sunny California, chose this French gem for its lush greenery, tranquil surroundings, romantic charm, and exquisite baroque salons. Their wedding was an intimate celebration filled with love, laughter, and the joy of sharing their special day with close family and friends. It was the perfect setting to experience the beauty of France and the timeless allure of the Loire Valley.

Adeline began her day in one of the elegant upstairs rooms of the Chateau de Bouthonvilliers, where the soft light added a touch of magic to her bridal preparations. The ceremony took place in front of the estate’s enchanting chapel, at the top of a grand staircase. With emotions running high, Adeline and Mitch exchanged heartfelt vows, promising to say “yes” to forever. It was a touching moment surrounded by the serene beauty of the chateau’s grounds—a true fairy tale setting for a wedding photographer to capture.

After the ceremony, we ventured into the idyllic surroundings of the Chateau de Bouthonvilliers for the couple’s photo session. The outdoor spaces provided a dreamy, pastoral backdrop with lush gardens and peaceful corners, while the chateau’s interiors exuded refined elegance. These contrasting settings offered a harmonious blend of romantic countryside charm and classic French sophistication. It was a dream for a wedding photographer to create timeless memories in such a picturesque location.

For the cocktail hour, Adeline and Mitch delighted their guests with a French picnic-inspired buffet. Freshly baked bread, artisanal cheeses, and seasonal fruits created a simple yet exquisite spread that celebrated the French art of living. Later, the dinner was served “al fresco,” as the golden sunset bathed the evening in warm light. The guests gathered around a beautifully decorated table adorned with lanterns and candles, savoring the tranquility of the chateau as they shared heartfelt conversations under the stars.

The evening festivities culminated with a dazzling champagne fountain, where Adeline, now wearing a chic short wedding dress perfect for dancing, shared a toast with her loved ones. The outdoor dance floor in front of the Chateau de Bouthonvilliers came alive as guests enjoyed a lively celebration. To everyone’s delight, the chateau owner brought out vintage-style wigs reminiscent of the French ancien régime, adding a playful twist to the party. Adeline, Mitch, and their guests danced late into the night, creating unforgettable moments filled with laughter, joy, and endless fun.
