A Dior-inspired Wedding at Chateau du Prieure d’Evecquemont

Editorial

At the start of summer 2024, I had the immense honor of photographing an inspirational styled shoot organized by the exceptionally talented wedding planner, Justine Huette. I already had the opportunity to work with Justine, and it looks as if each of her artistic project is a true piece of art. A few months prior to this shoot, we discovered the breathtaking Chateau du Prieure d’Evecquemont, located about an hour from Paris. Its owner, Claudie, unveiled this architectural gem perched high with stunning views over the valley. The chateau is steeped in history and frequently serves as a backdrop for film and television productions. Notably, it doubled as the Ritz suite where Coco Chanel resided in Apple TV’s series “The New Look.” Claudie’s exceptional taste and decor inspired by iconic locations like the Ritz provided the perfect setting for our styled shoot. Naturally, our theme drew inspiration from Dior, echoing the timeless elegance and sophistication associated with the fashion house. With a floral design by Veronique Lorre and a focus on couture-style poses, we crafted a shoot that was both dreamy and fashion-forward.

As a wedding photographer in Paris, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for integrating a couture and fashion-inspired aesthetic into my work. This shoot provided the perfect opportunity to bring that vision to life. The preparation phase was particularly inspiring, with the bride’s timeless beauty framed by the stunning blue room of the chateau. Her Nicole + Felicia gown from Top Bridal Paris, paired with Jonida Ripani’s elegant jewelry, exuded understated luxury. Her makeup, masterfully done by Fanny Wong, highlighted her striking blue eyes, matching the decor. I experimented with double exposures, layering floral images with portraits to evoke the fragrances and textures of the flowers present. The groom, dressed in a refined tuxedo from Oscar Paris, completed the picture of elegance. Every element harmonized perfectly to create a timeless yet high-fashion ambiance.

The ceremony was a magical highlight, set against the chateau’s grand double staircase. Despite an earlier downpour, the skies cleared just in time for the outdoor shoot, adding an air of serendipity to the day. Veronique Lorre’s floral arrangements transformed the space into a colorful homage to Dior’s signature style. Cynthia from My Celebrant led the ceremony with warmth and grace, while musicians Rafael Carmo, Wagner Matos, and harpist Dora Vlad filled the air with enchanting melodies. Capturing this scene required careful staging to ensure every participant and detail was beautifully showcased. The result was a series of photographs that balanced emotional authenticity with artistic composition.

One of the most visually stunning moments of the shoot was the dinner setup in the chateau’s tree-lined alley. Justine Huette’s vision and Veronique Lorre’s vibrant floral palette came together beautifully on a table that felt like an opulent picnic. The elegant stationery by Cécile Kotsch of Bonjour Paper added a refined touch, with menus and butterfly-shaped place cards echoing the garden theme. Bello from Wedding Cakes and Co crafted multicolored cookies as guest favors, perfectly complementing the scene’s exuberance and charm. It was a feast for the eyes and senses, perfectly aligned with Dior’s ethos of beauty and elegance.

The pièce de résistance was undoubtedly the wedding cake. Bello from Wedding Cakes and Co outdid herself with a five-tier masterpiece adorned with hand-painted flowers. Each detail echoed the shoot’s floral theme, further enhancing the dreamlike quality of the event. The cake’s intricate design highlighted the artistry and attention to detail that made this styled shoot so extraordinary.

Participating in this project with such a talented team was a true privilege. From the vision of Justine Huette to the incredible collaboration of all the vendors, this shoot was one of the highlights of my year. The Chateau du Prieure d’Evecquemont’s charm, coupled with a Dior-inspired theme, created an unforgettable celebration of timeless elegance and artistic creativity. It was an experience I’ll cherish forever.

We had the immense pleasure of seeing our project featured in international wedding blog “French Wedding Style“.
