A Paris Luxury Wedding Editorial at the Chateau de Ferrieres
In September, I had the extraordinary honor of being invited by the immensely talented wedding planner, Wonderline, to photograph a breathtaking editorial she organized. From the moment I arrived, I was struck by Wonderline’s impeccable taste and ability to bring grand visions to life. The setting for this project was none other than the magnificent Chateau de Ferrieres, a neo-Renaissance masterpiece located just an hour from Paris. Built in the 19th century, its interiors reflect the opulent Rothschild taste. This unique venue is perfect for hosting grand celebrations and has recently gained additional fame as a filming location for The Count of Monte Cristo. Having photographed a wedding there in 2022, I felt incredibly fortunate to return and capture its magic once more.
For this editorial, I was eager to infuse a high-fashion flair into the imagery, continuing a creative direction I had embraced throughout the year. My approach involved bold use of flash and trendy, dynamic poses for the models. On some images, I experimented with movement and revisited the technique of double exposure, merging a portrait with floral details. Guiding people into the perfect pose has become a skill I’ve truly mastered, and it was exciting to see the results. The bride wore a stunning Alina Marti gown featuring fine lines and embroidered floral details—a sublime balance of refined elegance and whimsy. Her modern, glowing makeup and hairstyle, crafted by the incredibly talented Alesia Solo, perfectly complemented the look, making it a dream to photograph.
One of the editorial’s standout scenes was the ceremony setup. Wonderline’s vision for a modern aesthetic came to life in the absence of a traditional arch. Instead, she asked florist Magaly from Empreinte N°8 to design a ground floral arrangement set in front of the imposing facade of the Chateau de Ferrieres. The chateau itself provided a breathtaking natural backdrop for the ceremony. For those seeking inspiration for a luxury Paris wedding photoshoot, this setting perfectly embodies elegance and grandeur. Inspired by an illustration created for this project by the artist Lili Takeno, I recreated a strikingly fashionable pose for the couple. The timing was perfect as the sun bathed the facade and ceremony setup in full day light, ideal for capturing contemporary images. As usual, I incorporated the bride’s veil into playful and artistic compositions, but contrarily to my usual style, the frontal sunlight added a fresh, modern edge to the shots.
Beyond the ceremony, the dinner scene was another highlight. The talented floral designer Magaly from Empreinte N°8 transformed the white room of the Chateau de Ferrieres into a breathtaking dining space. Following the latest trends, Magaly arranged several round tables in a continuous flow, connected by a centerpiece that extended across them all. Abundant floor arrangements completed the look, while a lavishly adorned fireplace became the ultimate statement piece. For this scene, the bride donned an extravagant Stevens Ishay feathered gown. The look was bold, modern, and undeniably glamorous, perfectly capturing the spirit of a bride ready to light up the dance floor. This styling brought a vibrant, playful energy to the editorial—the kind of exuberance that defines today’s modern weddings.
The feathered gown also made an appearance during the cake scene, although the “cake” was anything but traditional. Wonderline and K n Kakes opted for a stylishly unconventional wedding tart instead of a classic tiered cake. This low yet wide dessert offered a unique visual and interactive experience. The bride and groom kicked off the fun by adding fresh fruits to the tart, sprinkling it with powdered sugar, and sharing the first bite together. The moment was filled with joy and laughter, perfectly accompanied by the lively music in the background. It was a celebration of love, fun, and creativity—a true highlight of the day.
I’m deeply grateful to Wonderline for inviting me to be part of such a talented team. It was an absolute pleasure to collaborate with incredible creatives and capture their artistry alongside the videographer, Stéphane of Wedding Memory. Together, we documented a Paris luxury wedding editorial that showcased the beauty, grandeur, and modern spirit of celebrations at the Chateau de Ferrieres. I’m already looking forward to my next opportunity to photograph at this stunning venue!
The very talented Stéphane of Wedding Memory also created a stunning video that beautifully captures the essence of the day.
