The Best Spots for a Paris Photoshoot

Article

Dreaming of a photoshoot in Paris to capture your wedding, pre-wedding, or simply to create unforgettable memories of your stay in the City of Light? Over the years, I’ve had the chance to photograph countless sessions across Paris, and I know all the best spots to make your shoot truly magical.

Be it for an early morning photoshoot with pastel colors in the sky, or a midnight photoshoot, Paris offers a wealth of stunning locations, but it’s impossible to cover them all in a single session. Depending on how long you want your shoot to be, you can pick one or combine several. Let’s explore some of the most beautiful places for your Paris photoshoot!

The Most Iconic Paris Photoshoot Spots

Trocadéro

Place du Trocadéro is hands down the most iconic spot for a classic Eiffel Tower view. Its panoramic backdrop is simply unbeatable for any Paris photoshoot—but because of its popularity, it can get very crowded. That’s why I always recommend scheduling your shoot here early in the morning for the best experience.

Apart from its stunning view, Trocadéro is a fairly open space with limited variety in angles, so I usually plan around 30 minutes here before moving on to the next location.

Louvre

The Louvre is one of the top photoshoot locations in Paris thanks to its breathtaking architecture and endless photo opportunities. From its centuries-old facades and majestic arches to the famous glass pyramids, it offers a mix of historic and modern vibes that perfectly capture the essence of Paris.

The pyramid area gets busy quickly, so early mornings are ideal if you want clean shots. However, many hidden corners of the Louvre stay relatively quiet throughout the day, allowing for beautiful photos even later on.

Palais Royal

Of all the spots in Paris, Palais Royal is my personal favorite. Just a two-minute walk from the Louvre, it’s super convenient to combine both locations in one session.

Palais Royal boasts elegant rows of white columns, intricate facades, and an intimate atmosphere that feels worlds away from the busy Louvre. In spring, its small garden bursts into bloom with magnolia trees, adding an extra touch of magic. Plus, there are plenty of sheltered spots—perfect if the weather isn’t on our side.

Pont Alexandre III

Pont Alexandre III is the epitome of grand Parisian style. With its ornate 19th-century lamp posts, gilded decorations, and sweeping views of the Grand Palais (which hosted the 1900 Universal Exhibition), it’s like stepping straight into the Belle Époque.

From here, you’ll also catch a beautiful distant view of the Eiffel Tower, making it a top pick for timeless, elegant portraits.

Petit Palais

Just a short walk from Pont Alexandre III, the Petit Palais is a hidden gem with its monumental golden doors—the grand entrance to the Fine Arts Museum. The museum opens at 10 a.m., so early morning is the perfect time to shoot here.

Its gilded doorway is one-of-a-kind, and honestly, no other place in Paris (not even Versailles!) offers such a spectacular backdrop.

Intimate Paris Photoshoot Spots

Avenue de Camoens

A five-minute stroll from Trocadéro brings you to Avenue de Camoens, a charming pedestrian street with a beautiful Eiffel Tower view framed by classic Haussmann-style buildings.

This spot feels more intimate than Trocadéro, though it’s very popular—sometimes you may need to wait your turn. The angles here are limited, but its charm makes it worth it.

Pont de Bir-Hakeim

Famous for its appearance in Christopher Nolan’s Inception, Pont de Bir-Hakeim is a striking spot with its metallic columns and slightly industrial vibe, offering a cool, steampunk-style backdrop.

It also provides a fantastic Eiffel Tower view, making it a great alternative if you want something different from the usual Trocadéro shots.

Tuileries Gardens

Next to the Louvre, the Tuileries Gardens offer a vast green space with romantic fountains, wide-open views, and a charming white carousel. This mix of manicured Parisian landscaping and historic architecture creates plenty of opportunities for a Paris photoshoot.

Pont des Arts

Just a two-minute walk from the Louvre, Pont des Arts is perfect if you love a classic Seine River view. At sunrise, the bridge is bathed in dreamy pastel pinks when the weather’s clear—making it an especially enchanting spot for early risers.

Seine Banks

Nearby, the Seine banks are full of charm, with old cobblestone paths, graceful weeping trees dipping toward the water, and endless romantic nooks. A timeless Parisian backdrop for sure.
