A Paris Photoshoot at the Royal Monceau
While Paris is renowned for its iconic outdoor photoshoot locations, opting for an indoor venue can be just as enchanting and full of charm. In December, I had the absolute pleasure of capturing the love story of V. and A., a delightful couple from Delhi who are set to tie the knot in February. V., who lived in Paris for eight years, wanted to share her beloved city with A. through her own eyes. Given the chilly December weather and V.’s deep familiarity with Paris’s iconic outdoor spots, they opted for an indoor photoshoot. Their choice? The luxurious five-star Royal Monceau – Raffles Paris, an opulent palace redesigned by the legendary Philippe Starck. This hotel, with its blend of classic elegance and contemporary flair, provided the perfect backdrop for their prewedding shoot.
Our photoshoot began in the hotel’s exquisite communal areas. The dim lighting, adorned with charming wall sconces, created a glamorous and intimate atmosphere. As it was the festive season, the grand Christmas trees adorning the lobby added a touch of holiday magic. The highlight of the hotel, however, was the breathtaking grand staircase. Surrounded by chandeliers and intricate woodwork, its mirrored walls gave an illusion of infinite grandeur. The reflections were a dream for me as a photographer, offering endless creative possibilities to showcase the couple’s elegance and love.
Next, we moved to their private suite, a haven of sophistication and comfort. Here, I captured a mix of natural light and modern, fashion-inspired flash photography. The suite’s chic interiors lent themselves perfectly to a couture-inspired aesthetic. For a playful twist, we ventured onto the terrace, where A. lifted V. in his arms, resulting in candid, joy-filled shots. We even had some fun with the couple jumping on the bed, their laughter filling the room, and going into the bathtub to share a cup of champagne. These moments brought out their vibrant personalities and genuine happiness, creating photos brimming with life and love.
The photoshoot concluded with a heartwarming surprise. A. had secretly planned a special moment for V.: a diamond solitaire ring, presented in the most romantic fashion. The hotel staff had prepared a beautiful setup with chocolates, champagne, and a decadent dark chocolate cake. V. had no idea what was coming, and her reaction was priceless as A. dropped to one knee, almost as if proposing all over again. The room was filled with laughter, tears of joy, and an overwhelming sense of love. I feel deeply grateful to witness and capture such profound moments, immortalizing their magic through my lens.
